چکیده

A novel multicomponent strategy for the efficient synthesis of tricyclic pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinolines has been described. The bond-forming efficiency, accessibility and generality of this synthesis make it highly attractive to assemble tri-heterocyclic scaffolds.

The catalyst-free multicomponent reaction of 1,2-diaminobenzene, dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates, and ethyl bromopyruvate forms pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoxaline derivatives in good yields. Ethylenediamine also reacts under similar conditions to produce new pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine derivatives.

Pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline derivatives were synthesized by one-pot three-component reactions starting from isoquinoline, 2-bromoacetophenones and different non-symmetrical acetylenic dipolarophiles using 1,2-epoxypropane as solvent.
